I picked this up yesterday from the swap table at our weekly Model A meeting. Can anybody identify it? Manufacture date stamp appears to be November 1940, so likely from a 1941 model. Built by Jaeger Watch Co in NY.

EDIT: The dimensions of the hole it would fit in would be 2" high by 2.75" wide. The mounting hole spacing is 3.25" center to center.

I cleaned and lubed it, and now it runs like a clock. It's an interesting movement. Not the typical set of points that close every few minutes to energize a solenoid to stretch a spring. This one has a pin on the balance wheel that brushes up against a spring contact each time it rotates back and forth, which provides a momentary ground that energizes an electromagnet and pulls the balance wheel in the opposite direction.

FYI, the black background behind the numbers was some version of purple or burgundy when I got it. I painted it black.

Is there a question there somewhere, or are you just showing us your new clock?

What are the measurements? It may fit in my 41 , not correct but better than an empty hole . That is if it’s for sale.

The question is in my original post, asking if anyone could identify it. I have no idea what make or model it is from.

It would need a hole 2" high by 2.75" wide. Distance between the mounting holes is 3.25" Not for sale at this time as I may use it in my old Buick.

I added the dimensions to my original post. Thanks.

I’ve got an extra glove box door for my ‘40 Olds with a clock in it. I will check it out tomorrow…

1940 Olds was one of my suspects, but they have the time setting knob on the front. This one has it on the back.
