I got this Buick nailhead with a project and have been trying to ID year and size sites say different things and years. Here is a picture of the engine and numbers

Good idea to ID your engine . There is a lot of less than reliable info out there. My Wildcat left the factory with a 401, (according to GM info archives) and the "experts'' claim there were no 425 s produced in Canada, and yet my car has a "4704" block. The numbers on the area in front of the valley cover make no sense. ( Due to being in Canada) There are no letters at all,( should have a K in there) only numbers. Are you planning to run the Offenhauser 2 x4 ? If not I would be interested.
