Go on the Chassis Research social group and dig through the catalog post that Little Wing put up. About a 1/3 of the way though there is a page with a TE-448 show in the photograph with the smaller rails like yours has. I thought it odd too when I noticed it, but i guess that is the way some of those came...

Hmm interesting. The more I think about it the more I feel it was probably a Chassis Research KIT that was bought and homebuilt, with the original owner putting their personal touches on it.

I was able to get ahold of the previous owner who got the car from the original owners son. Supposedly there was a photo of the car back in the early 60's racing, he was going to try to get a photo of the car for us but the son wants nothing to do with it...

He wont give us the picture (let alone see it) wont give his fathers name or any info...

So our only hope is to maybe find a picture someone took. The info I have on the car is that it used to run Americans in the back and spokes in the front, had an injected flathead with zoomies, and an aluminum body with stickers on it..

Would love to find some more info but we hit a road block...

  6. Thats a real shame that the son won't come through, must be some type of reason..........

Well the plan is to take the engine that is in the Antique Doll and put it in the new digger, keep the early ford tranny with just 1st and 3rd.

And we are starting to build a new 4 port flatty that should give the doll a lot more kick!

That's how my dad used to run it, but I can't remember what his rear end ratio in the Banjo was.

Funny you said that, just yesterday Amy said she wasted to drive this new digger. Once I get the chassis checked out and fixed up I don't see why she can't make a few runs up at Eagle Field!

In the next few weeks we are going to get the chassis blasted to see what we really have to work with here. Crossing our fingers....
