Jeez-O-Pete, there's a bunch of transmissions, so far I haven't seen anything that really jumps out at me, lot's of three speeds. The T85 (trans #3 & #18) I believe is a three speed Ford from the late 50's, with a cable-operated overdrive, so it might be kind of nice to have. The T86 (trans #4 & #16) is the same, later version of the Ford 3-speed with overdrive.

And that's it - 45 transmissions. Feel free to holler out if there's anything interesting in there or worth keeping, or if y'all know what should be scrapped.

Thanks a lot, guys - I kinda figured I'd bring these to the experts!

THE FORD BORG WARNER T-85-86 OVERDRIVE BOXES HAVE SOME VALUE but shipping makes it tough but you should be able to sell all the overdrive pieces and some of the reg 3 speeds. I wish you were closer.good luck Bruce.

That's just the thing - he's not sure what he has. He found a part out there he thought was just a regular electrical part, and it turned out to be a crab distributor.

There's a LOT of flathead stuff there, too - and the guy who he got it from MUST have kept some of the stuff because there was SOME value. I mean, there's at least a few Merc cranks there.

If this goes well, I may post pics of his flathead pile, too. He's north of St. Joe, MO - on dialup. I'm here in Kansas City. He emails the pics, I post 'em.

He also found a '57 Chevy 235. All these parts have been inside, and well protected until he moved them. He's moving them inside ASAP, but for now they're under tarps.

Number 40 looks like a non syncro first gear 58-up chev 3 speed...if it has a rear mount pad on the tail.

I haven't seen his flatheads, actually.

As for the Ford motor, I lost like half my basement in a flood a few months back - the water department never shut off my water after the heater broke and the pipes froze/burst, spraying everything for a week before I found out. Unfortunately, none of the car stuff is covered, and I'm having to go after the city for it.

So the Ford motor got a little sidetracked, unfortunately - as did every other project. A running Hemi even got sprayed. :(

Trannys as scrap are worth about 10 cents a pound. If you could break them up into piles of gears and shafts, and another pile of cast iron,be worth more.Cast iron tranny might weight 50-80 lbs each? Pull off side or top covers, rusted bad inside, scrap.OD tranny have some value to some people.
Looks like you got about 200 bucks of scrap.

I went up and looked at this pile of flathead parts last winter - had to roll large chunks of ice off the tarps to get a look at stuff. Personally I thought he was a little pricey on the flathead stuff. No V8-60's, although some 60 parts - cyl sleeves, pistons, rings, bearings, etc. The stuff is mostly old original parts like the 60 stuff, but not well taken care of, so many incomplete sets, bearings laying loose out of boxes etc. I didn't see any merc cranks among the ones I looked at, but there could be one buried in the mix somewhere. The flathead engines were disassembled, so finding all the parts for any one engine might be tough. Most even had the main caps gone. I didn't see any 97's or speed parts of any kind.

  28. #14 was in a A-100 van because the upper mount. gm and ford has similar mounting systems in their 60's vans.

  29. The Borg Warner trans T-85/86/90's where used in alot of different vehicles. if i was closer i woul scoop up one of the t86's for my nash. mine has no third gear!

#7 looks like 1955 Pontiac; same gearbox as Buick, but open drive tailstock.
#23 is '50s to 1960 Buick H.D. three speed with six bolt inspection cover, as in Super/Roadmaster
#24 is 1940-48 Chevrolet passenger car
#29 is either '51-'63 Olds (as someone already said), or '56-'57 Pontiac
    #30 is '55-'65 Chevy O/D
#38 is Buick torque tube light duty trans with five bolt inspection cover
