When you find out, I hope someoone has a link to an old Mallory part number sheet.

Even better, I hope your distributor uses Mallory #135 points. I have two sets in original Mallory packaging.

Look up Mallory on the web and call them, they are usually quite helpful. They have been to me.

YC Series Double Life. They don't make the caps anymore. Your best shot will be e-pay or the good ole HAMB. GMC Bubba on here may be of more help. I think the cap p/n is #4002.

My local NAPA guy and Hamb member used an old Mallory catalog he had & part numbers from my points to track down new points, rotor, and cap. Took about an hour on the computer and came from plant in Virginia.

Just a thought: If you can't obtain the right cap maybe you could make an adapter ring that fits over the distributor base and enables you to use a common late model cap.

Left this kinda large so it was readable, from mid 70's catalog.

Don't throw away your old cap. Inspect it very closely for cracks and then if none are found it can be easily cleaned by bead blasting with worn out beads or baking soda. Once all the corrosion is gone inside the cap the exterior can be restored by dusting with clear so that it looks brand new. The caps are bullet proof when compared to factory throw away caps. Check the carbon contact inside also.

I think this is good advice.
Have always wondered what could go wrong with a cap besides being broken or looking carefully for arc trails in the dome. A good cleaning has revived a few for me. It takes a lot of firing before there is any noticeable wear as far as I can see.
