I have a couple of brackets that I can't identify where they go on my 31 Chevy coupe project (or if they are even for my car). Any old Chevy guys know where these go or what they are for? No 30-32 Chevy coupe builders here? Huh, I guess I'll keep digging through Google and eBay. I just hope it isn't a case of "those aren't for a Chevy" and I'm just wasting my time. Thanks anyway folks
Thanks for the reply @302GMC , no the brackets are in place there already. ***uming that the brackets go to this car (can't guarantee it, I have a small collection of non-Chevy parts that I have found mixed in with the parts boxes) I'm running out of ideas where they might go. I did get a suggestion over on the ChevyTalk forum that I will check when I get home, I'll definitely post if/when I figure it out.
Looks like door bracket holes one end and possibly a wooden beam going under the dash to the other side. just a guess.
From memory they don’t really look like any that were in mine when I blew it apart. I’ll take a look this weekend and get back to you.
Well, doesn’t look like any of the brackets that were in mine. I’d wager they’re from something else.
brokedownbiker, Those 2 brackets do belong to your car, they are rear body mounts. Here are a few pictures of them when I replaced the wood in my ‘31 Pontiac Sport Coupe (pretty much the same body as the Chevy).
Thank you @31 B'ville! That solves the mystery- I actually found out yesterday, one of the old-timers I have breakfast with every week stopped over to see the car and showed me where they go but I really appreciate you taking the time and answering my question! It looks like you went all the way with your Pontiac- new wood kit and some frame work too, it appears. Got any pics of the finished project?
Not done yet unfortunately. These pictures are in its current state. Getting close to blowing it apart for paint. I have a build thread about it here on the HAMB. Hope the wood is good if you’re planning to keep it, you will be way ahead of the game.
