I have these three Cadillac hubcaps. I don't know the year, or model they came from, do you? I thought '55, then was told '58...I looked on the net for pictures, but have not seen any years from 48-60 that show THESE wheelcovers. HELP! They are all almost NOS, two have the same center cap, one doesn't (slightly different), they were found on a basement shelf in Detroit. Almost NO WEAR. Don't know much about them except they are fine, fine, fine...looking to sell 'em, too.
They must be off of a Cadillac trike...cuz there's only THREE of 'em!! Hee Heee Ha Ha Ha Ha!! (Not sure of the year, though!)
BTW Hack...I may need some help with the rockers...it's a bitch trying to keep 16 guage in place while trying to piece a rocker together...
Ha Ha...yeah, I saw 'em...along with your impressive Cougar cap collection...but I'm no authority on Cadillac trikes...so I can't help ya with the year!!! Just say the word and I'm there, Dude!
Need cash to pay off Ray for a Merc quarter...selling stuff on e-bay seemes to be the quickest way. PM me with your PH number so I have it...Thanks.
I think everyone has a set of those in the shop.....no one can find wheels that they will fit. 57 Caddy. I have a set....
those caps are 1956. 57's ribs are more distinct and will snap on almost any 15" wheel. hope this helps, doug
For the heck of it, I tried them on some Ford steelies I have...'97 Police Interceptors...not even CLOSE to fitting...Hmmm.
You out there trying to pound Caddy trike caps onto your neighbor's old cop car??? Hope he's at the bar tonight!!!
I got a few of them, they are 56. If anybody wants to use them they fit them old white spoke wheels that everybody had to have back in the 70's. Looked real nice on a friends 1960 Ford PU.
Buy this and you'll have a set: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34209&item=2441970146
Ah yes, there was a set on the calssifieds last week that some poor sob gave like $400 for and somebody here thought they'd try to sell. They invariably go for around $10 ea even in Great shape. Just TRY to find a set of the '56 Caddy 15" deep dish wheels that they'll fit on though!!!! Now you've got a set for YOUR shelf!!!!
Yes they are 56 have a bunch of em. They will fit some other 60s Cads FEDSLED has a set on His 65 Cad they are Killer lookin caps But fit very few rims like the white spokes as mentioned above. You can cut the centers out of the they make killer beauty rims.Or put a light in the center and put them in your cieling for a light ring. -FEDER
You have already been helped, but try this one anyway. http://www.car-nection.com/cadillacdatabase/dbas_txt/mascotsg.htm
Hack- He moved, I got the wheels in return for a set of ARE's he wanted so it wouldn't look like such a cop car.
Thanks for all the help guys! Now at least I have an idea of what they came from, and a rim that could get them to work. I had been keeping them for the Merc, in fact, I had them several years BEFORE I even got the Merc (and I've had the merc over 5 years now!)..until I realized that I had no clue where I could find a rim to make them work. Now, instad of those smoothies I have, maybe I'll find me a set of wagons, if the backspacing fits. Decsions, Decisions...at any rate, thanks guys. Now if I decide to part with them, I know what they're from. Hell, some caddilac restorer might pay top dollar, right?
I always thought it would make a killer serving tray for veggies and dip.......all polished up and shiny with ranch dressing on top.
[ QUOTE ] I always thought it would make a killer serving tray for veggies and dip.......all polished up and shiny with ranch dressing on top. [/ QUOTE ] That's a great idea! I could cut the center out, and replace it with one of those little dish things restaraunts use for dips...then I could sell them on E-gay for $100 each, to the Von Dutch goldchainers! Excellent idea. Hell, if they only fetch $10 a piece, I could start buying up all the used '56 caddy caps I could find and start my own Hubcap-chip-dip-serving-tray cottage industry! I would be rich! I'd never have to leave the shop again! Needa name though. Something catchy. I know! the "Hub-a-Dip Chip-Dip and Salsa Serving CADDY!"
