Hot Rods Help identify gauge cluster?

Hi there.....anyone have any idea what this gauge cluster is or if it's worth anything?

 

Chevrolet 1933 Mercury

 

Thank you so much......I'm guessing not appropriate in a traditional 1929 roadster build? Think the gauges are worth taking out and putting in another cluster? The guy wants $75

Should work great as long as your charging system doesn't exceed 20 amps & the oil pressure is never higher than 30 lbs.

 

Well now throw a flatty between the frame horns and you're golden. ^^^^

@Jeff's '29 Roadster why wouldn't it bean appropriate piece for a traditional '29 roadster build? Its a gauge panel and its got gauges.

 

That's a great panel for your build, period and style-wise. But, what Porkn****** says about the amps and pressure gauges is definitely a consideration. Good price, too. The AC speedo is way under appreciated compared to the equivalent S/W. Go for it.

AC gauges in general are way under appreciated and way more rare. If I needed something for my A sedan I would be all over it. pretty neat little panel, needs a little cleaning up for my taste but that is just a tooth brush and some comet away.

 

Pro restoration tip: ALWAYS use someone else's toothbrush.

hey while you're here you got any history on AC gauges? You are always pretty good with really obsolete stuff?

 

AC gauges are good stuff...they made a lot of simple round gauges long after cars went to little rectangles because they supplied stationary motors, huge construction machines, heavy trucks, etc. They made some nice hotrod type gauge panels just like SW, and I think they are only obscure because they did not see and jump on the hotrod market for industrial gauges. I've never found an AC aftermarket catalog, so I have no idea what's out there beside the panel and a few gauges I have. Their stuff is as nice as SW.
