Seems like they're all out of corvettes. I didn't know they made so many.

And There is nothing wrong with a good early 70’s 010 block as long as your not too picky about nostalgia an or know how to make one look older. [emoji1303]

@nobby, I don’t think the seller necessarily lied to you. You have a ‘79 block and ‘461 heads that were produced from ‘62 to ‘64, it is an engine put together from random pieces.
Just as easily the engine could have been put into a Camaro and the seller removed it from that car without knowing the origin.

    "V" - Flint Engine Plant
    "0319" - it's date code, "03" = 3rd month, March. "19" = day of month, 19th

Nothing would be different between a 1979 Camaro 350 and a 1979 Truck 350....except the truck would be more likely to have a 4-bolt main cap engine. Everything else would be the same...same 4 barrel intake, same camshaft, same heads, etc....even same hp rating. Even if it came from a 1979 Z28, by this late in the smog engine era nothing was special about Z28 or Corvette engines.
Only if the front application suffix stamped code ended in "DZ"....the posted "TJS" is definitely not a 302.

Just sand core or internal tracking numbers used at the foundry. Nothing significant to the ID or finished specifications of the engine or the block.

I've mentioned this on other threads, but I'll do it again here for a different set of eyes. Any application code that starts with a T...is from a truck. You don't need to know the other two letters for a quick decision if someone is selling you a Corvette 350. Same holds true for big block... when they went to 3 letter codes.

Same is true for letter code portion starting with "U", "V", "W", "X", and "Y" also, always truck codes for small blocks, and big blocks with a few BBC marine engines in the mix.

For some reason with the letter "Z" , on SBC's Chevy went back to using it on both cars and trucks, but most all "Z" codes are high performance engines, Vette and Chevy II along with some truck.
    No "Z" code Big Blocks.
