Thanks for posting the pix, dude. It was found in the woods this weekend on my wifes uncles property. Gotta say thanks to my son Michael, because if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have gotten up and walked around. I thought it was an empty 55 gal drum, and as I walked up to it I couldn't believe it was actually a cowl. The firewall is actually in really good shape, the cowl, not so much. But waddaya want for free? I'm certain it's not Ford, doesn't really look like a Chevy either. It kinda looks like some Buick stuff I've seen pix of, but I don't have any of the firewall. Any help would be apprieciated! Jay
You might be on to something with your Dodge theory, unless that top piece fits in the front of the bottom piece...is it supposed to be so round? http://www.conceptcarz.com/view/photo/122048,11657,0,0/photo.aspx http://www.roymorris.ca/html/0018.html
Wow, it is similar. I should run out and get a pic of the "solid" side, the corner almost matches that exactly where it comes up from the side to the windshield.... hold on. Jay
hey my guess would be dodge, but I think that i'd be from a truck or something- I thought most of the really early stuff in the car model of non ford/ chevy range had the fuel tank mounted in the cowl so as that it protued throught the fire wall. but thats only my guess. some advive to you mate and all, would be go to the/ a farm walk around and every time you see some old junk-even tin fuel cans and bottles go and check it out. I 've mate at least a couple of hundred of bucks from tip finds- the most popular is the pratice of farmers hacking of the drivers side door so they dont have to open it, and chucking the door in the tip. Well that was the case in oz anyway, theres six ford right hand doors in one tip I frequent. tyler
Thanks for the info. That's what I miss about not having any farms around here anymore. No cheap tin in the woods! Jay
