Help Identifying a Tool

I need some help identifying a tool. It is engraved "SARGENT IND. SWEENEY DIV." "SWE 689 ST 1249".

The tool came from the estate of a dear friend who passed at the age of 90. His son had no idea what it was and it just looked too important to leave behind.

A Google search found nothing of help. Hope one of you knows what it is.

 

I always click on these kinda posts thinking one of these days I'm gonna know what it is. No chance.

 

Is the inside bore threaded or splined ?

 

Pics of both ends and whats in that side hole would help.

 

It's got an Acme or square thread, so is meant to exert a large amount of force, if that helps.

 

I think it’s part of a dual wheel puller/ separator but it would be missing some stuff for that to be correct.
