Looks like '30-'31 Model A to me. '28-'29 are different from '30-'31.

Looks like 30-31 to me also. 28-29 was more rounded.

Nope, 28-29 four door. Kind of a hybrid of the two styles. A 30-31 would have a full height one piece firewall that's not recessed like this one and removable gas tank.

  5. It is a 28/29 Fordor cowl. Ford used 2 body suppliers, Briggs and Murry. I can't remeber wich is wich, but the more common one has the tank removable right up top, yours the gas tank is under the cowl, and is three piece. Only used on some Fordors (I think)

    ...to add to Chris'....
briggs had the removable tank up top, and murray had the 3 piece (under the cowl)

So, this cowl is wider than the "normal" A cowl? All the A frames were the same width, right? was the difference in mounting in the subrails?

Thanks guys! I have no use for the cowl so what is a fair price to sell it for. I took a beating on the car I got it with so anything I get back will be a plus.

  11. Yeah, definatly a Murray body. All the A frams from 28 through to 29 were the same dimensionaly, they differed I think (?) in the bolt on parts alone.
    Cheers,
    Doc.
PS, Find the rest and loose that Chebby stuff, FORD BABY!!:p:D

I have no issues with a Ford, if I had any common sense I would do a Ford since you can buy everything for them lol. I am just one of those guys who thinks I have to be different so the Chevy it is this time out.

I was going to do a 39 Dodge but it was impossible to find parts for that one at a reasonable cost so I sold it off.

I have another old cowl from who knows what I will take some shots of and see if you guys can determine what it is. It is basically junk but I am interested to see just how good you guys are! You impressed me on this one lol!
