Can anyone identify this steering wheel. Its wood with a pressed design and aluminum hub. I bought it about forty years ago at a swap meet just because it was cool ( you understand) and am now using on my roadster. I get a lot of comments on it and and would like to know what it came off originally. I am thinking early Chrysler. Thanks for any info.

It's not wood. It is a resin cast. It really looks like wood.
Used on many cars approx 1924 - 28. Studebaker, Hudson, I was even told Chrysler used them when the ran short. It was used in many other independent auto makers. I have had a few of them and that is info picked up from the old guys walking around the Hershey Pa swap meet.

Brigrat, your wheel looks like an exact match. Any clue as to what it's out of?

It's out of Johnny ( here on the HAMB) Sweet's stash donated to me for my Vintage Hydroplane. I have posted these pic's before with no definitive answer, you will get as many 'what it is" as there are experts! Still Dunno!
    For size reference it's a 17" wheel.......................

No way.. The HAMB is stumped as to what that is? This is the first time I've seen something like this go without being identified.

brigrat…..your wheel is exactly the same as mine. A friend machined the center cap for me. I will go with oldolds' identification. THE H.A.M.B. does it again. I am trying to send a picture of the center cap.

I cut off what was left of the sagging wood top structor...wasn't doing much anyway!

I removed the interior last night as well as where all the field mice were living!!! Wanted to get it in the garage last night, but need to wash out the inside of the vehicle to remove some of that mouse urine smell first!!! (garage is attached to house!).

I'll just flush in inside with some simple green or simular product, let it soak a bit and hose everything off. Then a day or two in the sun then she should be good to move inside to start stripping it down!

    </td> </tr> </tbody></table>

To me it looks very similar to the steering wheel above.

That looks like it , but what is the make of the car? I can't quite read the name off of the radiator emblem.
