I have a 33 Ford pickup ( hot rodded) that I picked up at an auction a couple years back. It has a four inch dropped axel with wishbone front end. There is a bit of play in the steering box. I am hopping someone would be able to identify the box and possible provide information on how to adjust it. I cannot see anything obvious. Four bolts hold on the bottom plate. Perhaps there are shims under it..? E752F0EA-3229-4196-AA37-330A2F51682F.jpeg

Looks like 53-56 F100 to me, sector adjustment is on side not shown. I would leave the cover on end alone with 4 bolts unless your doing a total rebuild. There are paper shims that set preload on taper bearings. Check drag link and tie rods for movement too, it may not be in the box.

True adjustment is with shims if not excessively worn.
The adjustment is just for pre-load. Trying to tighten the steering by the pre-load adjustment only makes it harder to turn. This may give the illusion of tighter steering but the slack is still there.
Over tightening that nut will eventually destroy the worm gear.

I appreciate your help guys! You were spot on. The front end is tight… just a little slop in the box. Clearly, this is the place to come for knowledgeable and prompt answers. Thank you!
