Has anyone seen or used something like this? You drill a hole through your firewall and insert this piece and secure it with a nut. The car I saw had a small rod going through this piece and the rod was used as his choke. The rod was threaded on the end with a little knob. (see the picture with the yellow knob) Does anybody know what this piece is called and where to find one? Thanks.
Also used for fresh air vent door cables. If they were mounted "in dash" they were usually chrome. Under dash the would be black.
Reminds me of the mount for the manual wipers on a 46 chevy truck . Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
In the second picture, viewed from the back side, it looks somewhat like a generic lock cylinder that might have been used in a desk drawer, a tool box or a cabinet door. At least they appear to be attached similarly.
The flat side in the threads was done to keep what ever from turning. was the hole on the face made that way or has it been drilled out?
This is what's known as a petosleeve, Steve. Oh, you're not Steve? Nevermind. Seriously, I think it's a factory part (who knows what make); and could be for a choke or vent cable, or even a headlight switch ferule. Hit the yards and you'll find more than you'll ever need. Butch/56sedandelivery.
looks like a switch for courtesy lights that was mounted in door jam but threads make it look like brake light switch.
