I'm wondering if that grand house in the first picture is still standing. That there is a pretty impressive pile of lumber that someone built.
@ClayMart that's my dad's place. Hence the picture. A prominent doctor had the house built, I am assuming this is his car too. Gorham,NH
Do you have a year on that pic by chance? My first thought was 1908 Oldsmobile. But the wheels look heavier and the hood looks longer. But looks late aughts or teens. Might have a 6 in it or a big 4
While a short time student of early autos, I Never focused on the bodies of different makes. These things I am sure of: The year of windshields was 1910. ( meaning they all had them ) As Ford tried to employ light weight, simple designs, large autos were favorite of well to do folk. In the early years, many engines were under the chassis. Turn of Century: A lot used tiller handles to control steering. Many used motors of one cylinder The decision of placing the driver on the left side of the car was Henry's campaign. So my feeling is that the pictured car was '05-'09. The cost of the machine was higher than many houses. Sorry I can't give the answer
I figured Pete would know, his dad and uncle had two Stevens-Duryeas back when we were in the Vintage Tin together.
