I've been to the shop in front (So-Cal Speed Shop) and I'm pretty sure they know what the cars out back are worth. If you're there you can have a look at the projects they're working on. They had a '32 roadster and a 55 or 56 Chev on the go when I stopped in.
i think kustomking has rusted wheelbarrows and tractor grills for sale too. save the cars for us. hahaha
Just ignore all the self righteous ones. Any time you use the rat rod term you'll have people tripping all over themselves to bash. It's just the way this place can be. However I will point out to you that you seem to be confused in your terminology. That link you provided is not a rat rod. Like someone mentioned above, it's more like an attempted show rod. Is that what you'd like to build if you purchase that body? Personally, if I had the chance to buy that body I would go the simple, cl***ic hot rod route. Also be advised that you're not going to be able to take that body from the skid an onto a car overnight. You said you don't have 3-5 years to build it in a garage...that might mean you should start with something a little closer to finished.
And A Rat is the bare minimum. Just cuz some goons decided that if it looked like metal it could be used in body work doesnt mean that all rats are Dirty Mangled Wrecks. I by no means would be making a show rod nor a Rat rod, in the sense that so many figure it is, but more of a Basic Rod. as Simple as a simple buildcould be; one could do this in a season if they had the time. Simple: I mean, fix the basic body work, Build/find a frame, drop drive train, basic interior and make it road legal. This could be done in a few months if you either have the time or the Cash to buy what you cant build or fix and dont mind it being something different. IE a Ford 302 into a 32 Chysler on a S10 Frame, With a homemade Wire Grill, etc. This would then make it essentially a RAT as the majority of the parts arent Brand Stock nor even Era Stock. I inquired about those 3 bodies in the pic and they have been sold since the pic was taken.
That would indeed make a rat rod. I think you truly need to spend some time and immerse yourself in the culture of hot rodding and learn exactly what it is you are proposing. Confusion is truly forte! Louie, I am simply an **** Hole. Worked hard at being one and am proud of it, as for self righteous? Depends on the subject, hot rods not so much. I come here so I can converse with like minded traditional Hot Rodders, thats what this place is for. Had I wanted to talk about all sub catagorys of our p***ion I would be elsewhere. If you don't fit in here, go away. Thats the problem with the majority of Australian Hot Rodders, if you have a particular interest and dare to voice it then you are a dumb-**** and what ever else one cares to think up. I am glad you don't work in medicine, with me having a particular interest in Trauma care, I would dare not voice that around you! Would I have to be interested in General Practice to be acceptable by you? Personally I truly don't have an issue with others having an interest other than mine. I do however take an exception when one of them is not clever enough to realise when they are in the wrong place and extolling the virtue of there personal interest where it is not wanted. Kind of like a racial activist on a KKK web site (If there is such a thing) talking of the virtue of integration. Not the right place. Louie, enjoy Oz Rodders. Doc.
looks like there is 2 32 plymouth pb coupes , a 32 plymouth pb sedan and a 33-34 plymouth with the quarter windows painted over.
