My wifes uncle has this truck he wants to do and i was looking for some advise as to what it is and if it would be worth puting the time into? i like the look of it but it almost seems to far gone of course it is my first pre 60s project so i could be way of base with the dificulty of fixing her up. it was a hot rod back in the day and i think i could make a good one again just want some opinions from a group with the know how and experience.
    thanks in advance

I'd second the keep it notion. Heck it's already got a battery box installed on the firewall!

    thanks guys
the hood, doors, fenders and running boards are in the bed which looks like a homemade unit but i like it just worried about getting in over my head being a FNG and all. we are thinking a built chevy I6 for a motor not sure on anything else but yeah the chevy dash is going to be fixed up and stay they did a great job mounting it it looks like it came that way.

do it. just take your time and do it.

  7. I'd do it...or at least attempt it.

Not sure of your skill level...personally I'll be signing up for some welding and metal work cl*** soon. I can weld not bad but have no formal training and I want to do things right the first time.

Definitely seen worse than that one saved. As for an ID. The double beltline down to a single point on the cowl looks like the 34, 5, 6, 7 and 8 Chevys I think.

Either way, the poor old girl deserves to be pulled out of the woods and placed into the hands of SOMEBODY that would appreciate her.

Here's one that was up the street, the 4Sale sign said 1938 (?) so yours might be a bit older - notice the differences. Not familiar with older Chevies either. This one lasted only a few days - had a $700 tag on it.

I would say it's a '36 Chev. and a Olds Rocket will go in so easy . I had one 46 years ago and it sure would spin its tires-got me into a lot of trouble with the LAW!!

The wooden structure says it is a 35-36 Chevy pickup.

The two 30-31 Model A doors on the back of the frame behind the cab may make you a little money if they are Coupe or Tudor doors.

    The bed is homemade.

It can't be a 35 because all 35's were tall cabs with the "visor" over the window as did early 36's... they call them high cabs. Roof came oof and cab was mostly wood.
36 and 37 shared the same low cab whixch is almost all steel except for the door pillars and a bow across the cowl.

I have a few parts left over from my old restoration days if you need them send me a tell.
