I need to pick someones brain on a vertex mag in a small block chev. I have motor top dead center on num one cylinder on the comp. stroke. I know where the rotor needs to be facing kinda. But! where does the mag body need to be. Do the wires have to go out the back(i need them out the front) There are three diff paint marker lines from other racers that have used this thing and none of them make since. Is there any mark or item(Ground wire connector) I can use as a guide. I did this once before 4 years ago and its just leaked out of my head.

    Thanks

I can't bvelieve it's any different than any distributer. Put the housing in where it is convenient and wire the cap starting at no. 1 where the rotor is pointed when you have it at top dead center, compression stroke.

In his defense, the Vertex mags don't have a standard cap rotation inside. They are staggered , kinda on top of each other.
