I bought this kit from Speedway and it turned out all right set up wise. The truck just sits to damn high, and looks straight up retarded. Its bumming me out, I wanted a hot rod not a 4X4! The rear is a no brainer but im alittle concerned on the front set up. I am going to gank a spring out of the front and see if she drops, but I am concerned that the next spring will hit the frame. Might have to notch it? Anyone been in this boat?

I dont want to Z channel it.

    Thanks guys!

a reverse eye mail leaf will get you about an inch drop-that spring looks to have quite a bi of arch in it, posies offers super low springs-or de arch yours. Depending on how low you want to get it, you may have to c notch the frame-and from the view of the picture it looks as if it might interfere with your upper shock mount. Also remember, you still have weight to add to the car-carbs, exhaust, steering box coolant etc.

it will look a lot lower with fenders and running boards :) yes a reverse eye spring will get it down a bit, and you can remove a few leaves going every other one at the top. do not take any out at the spring clips or below.

  4. Yea reverse eye maybe dearch the spring.

We use a boxed front cross member that we sink up in the front frame rail with a flatter spring and a dropped axle with dropped arms. Check out our stuff on our Web site or our Face book page click on albums . If you need any help call me Mike @ Steadfast Mfg. 419-526-3132 Because Stance is everything!

Retarded? It looks great at that height, but if you want it abit lower do as suggested and get a reversed eye spring that is also a little flatter.

I can't tell from the one photo but what do you have for a front crossmember with the Ford front spring on the Chevrolet frame?

Did you use a Model A style crossmember or a piece of tubing or ?

The reversed eyes on the spring and what Steadfast mfg suggest may be what you need to get it a lot lower.

On the rear with the parallel leaf springs you could use lowering blocks if needed or have the springs dearched some some.

  10. Frame is going to hit axle ?
I know you said no Z or channel but once the frame hits the axles you need to do something.
Personally I'd do a doane Spencer style Z up front. Not only because it will work, but because I want to do one like that. Its a Z right behind the front cross member and hidden by wheels shock mounts .
