I don't think cragers, astros, 5-spokes, etc would look that great on this car for some reason.

I agree that the tire size is wrong for that car, but I don't mind the wheels. Please don't hurt me!

I DO however recognize how dated they are...

Haha... If I can convince him to let them move down the line, I'm going to try and ebay them or something so we can try and get a new set of steel wheels and tires without having to pay any extra.

I agree the black wheels with spider caps and chrome rings would be killer, how about chromed reversed rims. Even the 14's you've got on there are a step up from those B@$d ****ters.

Neither picture of the car look right, the plain steel wheels take away and the Boyds look way out of place. try some center caps and trim rings on the steelies but the whitewalls definatly have to go.The Boyds **** but you have to admit the brite wheel look make the car look better.

The wheels and tires on there now are just junk I had in the back shed. They are on there to get an idea of the stance without the boyds. No intention of keeping the thin whitewalls. Talking about wide white walls.....or just black-walls.

My thoughts too, it's not a five spoke car. Spendy or not the wheels he has on it now are just wrong for the car. Not like some of the wheels that look cheap or an afterthought but more like going to the tire store and saying "what Ya got that's real shiny for 2000.00 But ugly wheels are ugly wheels no matter who's name is on them or how much they cost.

The car has character and at***ude with the black rims and white walls. Kind of a hot lick mid 60's look if it had a set of baby moons. With the Boyds it is just another nice but almost invisible fat fender Ford in a sea of similar fat fendered cars that you see at any larger event.

Still I like it either way and wheels and tires are easy to change out.

  25. i have the same problem with my father hes 66 years old and been a hot rodder ever sense he could drive on the farm back in the day. but the only problem is he doesnt have any taste for a hot rod what so ever the only inspiration he gets is from tv and a couple ****ty magazines hes always watching overhauling or hotrod tv or some thing stupid. so he built a 1957 hardtop that was a cali car rust free no patches and he decked it out in billet **** i couldnt stop him he just wouldnt listen and try and keep the car tradtional. now it looks all cheap and stupid in my eyes but i guess every one to their own "build the car for your self not for other ppl to look at" il see if i can post picks of my problem with him as well

Get someone on here to photochop you a picture of the car with the steel wheels, baby moons and trim rings, show it to your Dad and if he doesn"t like it buy him another beer.Surely somebody might trade you a nice set of tires and wheels.Either way your Dads got a nice ride.
