I searched al threads here and on ford barn but i am still not sure.

I have a european model B with the stock rear end that was behind the four banger ( i think 4.11)
Now i run a french flathead with 1939 trans and 16 x 750 firestones bias ply.
Mostly driven flat roads but possibly some hills on long trips (95 % of the time will be flat roads )
I want to have lower rpm on the highway but still enough power around town, i don't race just like nice cruising and keep up with traffic.
At the moment i run 18 x 750 on the rear but 50 to 55 mph is the speed with a acceptable rpm , with the 16 x 750 rpm will be even higher.
Will the 3.27 be good behind a stock french flatty or not ?

3.54 with such tall tires. There's only 3 mains in that engine and tall gears are hard on main bearings. I think with a 3.27 you'll be shifting to lower gears too often.

I did not know the 3.27 gear was even an option, I thought the 3.54 was the highest gear for banjo. I vote for the 3.54 even if the 3.27 were an option.

3.27 are aftermarket parts , some love it some say it is too tall.
With ring and pinion prices around 600 i don't want to buy a set and have to change later on.

Just checked the stamped numbers and it is 37 9 so 4.11
Will it be a big improvement when i go with 3.54 ?
I never played with rear end ratio’s since my roadster got a t5.

Leave it geared the way it is, you will be fine.
