even if you found someone who's rate was $50 it wouldn't get done for that. And I bet shop rates are closer to twice that out there. I see more than 60 hours to make it perfect...

actually thats pretty close for blocking 3 times, and some materials.

i prefer ncp280 over ploy primes, but its more expensive.

i got a gallon of pcl polyprime here that you can have if you wanna pick it up.
if you wanna use good stuff, ill spray it on for ya in the booth, if the sprayin's all that is holdn ya back, you'd have to get the material naturally.

i can also point ya in the right direction on blocking.

if ya wanna use the poly, you can have it ,but i dont wanna spray it here.

were about a half hour drive from burbank

Hey Jeff, can I come watch over your shoulder, haha!?! I wanna get involved, let's make it a cross country paint job extravaganza. Skullhat can prime it, Jeff can shoot it, and I'll buff it!

  14. You're doing a great job yourself. If you really want the best, and have the bucks, I would suggest Hot Rods and Hobbies in Long Beach. The green Merc they did won several awards at this years GNRS and in Oakland. He takes his time, probably too late for him to help you for the Mooneyes Xmas show this year, but Scott is a perfectionist. Good luck.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who replied and gave me advice or offered their services. Last nite i officially made up my mind and I have decided to take my car to FINKD. I'm very excited knowing that he will take my car to a whole different level. This Chevy being my first build it's definitely far from perfect, I did the best i could and now i need somebody like Jeff who REALLY understands customs to make it the best it can be! My plan is to load her up by mid week next week, so I'm busting my ass to finish the things that need be done before paint and body, I don't want to mess up a new paint job. So I'm on the hunt for a trailer now. Thanx again!!

  18. Thats awesome, you'll probably learn a ton, just hanging around Finkd.
Man, you're car is going to be stunning. I'll keep my eyes and ears open for a trailer, too.

  19. If the Road Trip falls through call Joe Schmoe at 714 357-5962, tell him I sent you. He's done a bunch of cars for us and is usually pretty fair. He's in Orange, CA

    Always need a fall-back plan ;)

Joe does excellent work and he's got very reasonable prices. He's done all the paint and bodywork on all my old boss's cars. He also did the bodywork and paint on a woody that I corrected a bunch of metal work on. I wish I had pics.

I'm don't doubt that Joe does amazing work, but i have to say that Jeff (Finkd) gave me one hell of a deal, even with my gas round trip and whatever i need to buy to eat and sleep, I'm still gonna be under what i've been quoted in L.A. area!! And I love Jeff's work, actually I can't believe that he's painting my car:eek:. I was recently looking at pics of McPhail's 60' wishing that i could have a bitchin' paint job like that:cool:!!

    Thanx anyways, I appreciate it!!
