3 different 80 mile round trips and a 3 hour hike to find. found the property owner and he said come get it. will need a winch for sure. I think it could be a 35 chevy ? Factory suicide doors and rumble seat. The moss is totally rad.

    It's a a 1933 Ford Cabriolet ( you lucky sum-a-na-gun )

  4. No way it's a chevy, the doors were square at the front corners. I'd say 33, 34 ford also. Good luck getting it. Take a lot of pics!

  5. How the hell did you discover it in the first place?Sheeesh!

Thats what I told my buddy. I should leave the moss. Did ford have factory suicide doors? I will post a picture of the grill later. I took that already. How I Found it. About 5 years ago me a my cusine were deer hunting and stubled on to it. It was priviate property but no fence. I was young and dumb at that time did not think it was worth asking about. I talked to 4 diferent land owners where I thought it was. Met some nice people one guy said I got and old car. I went to look at it but it was the wrong car. It was a 1936 4 door ford roof smashed in. After 3 trips I walked back up the train tracks like I did when i was hunting trying to retrace my steps. Finally found it after 3 hours and a few miles of side hill walking. I felt great to find it again. Turns out it was the first land owner I talked to. He was not home at the time so I called him. Said he did not know it was there. But I could have it for free. It is about 20 feet off of his back yard go figure. I will need to cut some small trees and brush down and mybe drive a truck with a winch in his yard to get it. I hope he is cool with this. I will probally throw him a few bucks for his trouble. I always keep this find in the back of my head now I finally know what to do with it.

Please leave the moss and such on and drop the body on a running frame :D

Be sure you wire the doors shut and paint the wheels red

I'll try to find you a bomber seat with bullet holes in it

You can be ready for the national roadster show!!

That doesn't look like Lewiston country. Looks more like west coast moss. There's a lot of folks in that area (all areas) looking for something like that. Good luck and lets see what it looks like after it gets out of there.

Look at the bottom of the cowl. 34 will have junk for the other latch. You lucky bastard.

Dig around in the dirt for extra parts........aka: Grill or cars or bumpers........My pops found a V8-60 a couple of years back and called me from his cell about the motor and I mentioned......"Is the carb there?", nope, not that I see.........he dug around in the dirt and found the Carb and a messload of parts for the $60 dollar motor.

Nice find!!! How cool would those pics be to share once you have the car on the road.

All these 'I went deer hunting and found hidden treasure' stories are killing me. I'm buying an orange jacket and hiking boots.

  20. You gonna build that in the Mosster Garage?

  21. I found a T grill shell a few years back out in the middle of a junk pile. I looked around for another half hour and didn't find anything else. My dad found a complete 1957 cushman scooter which he brought home and an A coupe body in the U.P. but he doesn't think he'd be able to find it again.

After a closer look I think it's a 34, you can see the latch actuator rod in the interior shot, they moved the interiot latch handle closer to the center of the door in mid 1934, before that the latch handle was up by the leading edge of the door. I was looking for the hood notch on the cowl and didn't see it so I thought it was a 33,..... this body still has the door glass frames and garnish moldings,......... what a cool find. Take it easy getting it out of there, the frames have a tendency to come apart at the kick up.

Speaking as one who also has a '33 cabrio project car.... you are extremely fortunate.... that is a very desirable ($$$) car you've found there...... now get it home.....SOON.

Yeah, I would not wait around to get that, the first opportunity you get you should be out there ready to go. Don't want anyone else to find out about it.

Would be very cool to leave the guy a few bucks for his kindness or buy him something nice. I'm sure he'll appreciate it.

Yeah, a '34 Ford cabriolet like that has got to be worth some very serious $ on the market. I hope you keep it and build a cool rod out of it, don't let anyone talk out out of keeping the car.

And in all honesty, I know you guys are probably just joking about the moss, but moss will make rust and rot once you get it out of the woods. That moss will decompose and make a mushy mess everywhere. The best thing you can do once you CAREFULLY remove the whole car is to disassemble it and wash out every inch of it so it's clean and dry. It'll be worth the effort.

Nice find! Now, take your time and carefully plan the removal. Chances are the frame is rotted away, so have some 2x4 and clamps to help hold it together. Some early 1950's car hoods to use like stone boats may make it slide out of there easier. Tried to move a 1931 Oakland that sat outside for 20 years and it just fell apart. Take your time, think about renting a Skidsteer to pull it out. :)

Opening morning is tomorrow here in Michigan for Firearms deer season...legal shooting starts 1/2 hour before sunup...(about 7 am)...

There are no car bodies in the Allegan Woods, (all State land...) but my 28 Model A Woodie will be parked by the side of the road, while I try my best to find a good buck...

Please don't butcher this limited production car by making it into a "traditional" car re channelled to the ground etc. Check out the production figures can't have been many made.

  29. A twist on the "Forest Primevel". Looks like it's been there since 1936. How far off the road is it? Probably was stolen and abandoned.

    Beautiful setting.
