Early Christmas present to myself. I picked these up this afternoon and so far haven't been able to ID them for sure. ET style & size uni-lug washers but no ET marking on the front between the spokes like I'm used to seeing. No markings on the back side either. Maybe I will have an amazing revelation when I cut off the old dry rotted bias ply tires with my Sawzall.. Until then I figured if anyone might know just by looking it would be you guys. Quick measuring as best as I can with the tires still on looks like a pair of 15x6 & a pair of 15x8. Straight spokes with a slight ridge, not rounded. Sorry, they are NOT for sale. Already got washers & lug nuts on order. They take ET size washers. Original color of the spokes appears to be Gold. So what did I buy ?
Sure look like E-T III's from here. The set I had back in the 70's, didn't have any markings cast on them, but did have a sticker inside.
ET rims. I have several sets. They take a sp. washers for the lug nuts. Not the best picture.Note the center caps.
Thanks for the pic. I have owned several sets of ETs over the years and like yours, they have all had the oval with ET in the center of it next to one of the lug nut holes just like in your pic. These do not. There are also no markings on the backside. Would you happen to have a pic of the backside of one of yours showing the reinforcing webbing that's cast into the spokes ? That might be a telltale feature. Alot of the Americans and others I've seen had no webbing at all. Doing a search on here I found another guy with the exact same wheels and nobody was able to ID his either. Maybe something made by ET for Sears or something along those lines where leaving off the brand name was how they were made ? Thanks.
I have found that anything that takes that washer insert like that is an ET wheel. I agree that the strengthening rib and the lack of ET letters on the front are a little unusual..but they may be earlier or later wheels than the normal run of wheels we see. Some of them have stickers in the tire area that say ET and what it fits etc...
Thanks guys. Maybe tomorrow when things quiet down I'll cut off a tire or 2 and see if I can find the remains of any stickers on the inside. The rusty washers that remain look like they've been on there since dirt was new and they are stamped on the back "uni-lug" and "patented" so I believe them to be genuine ET washers at the very least. Probably the wheels are as well.
update.. I had the 40 year old bias ply tires removed today and found I partial sticker on the inside of 1 wheel. Top left hand corner missing so no brand name but across the bottom was 01-585-1 and SEMA. It's a 15x8.5
