Help me ID this ex Fiat drag car body I found

i haven’t seen this photo before. This would be late 1963 since it has the 2 port Hilborn 292ci 4:71 blown motor from the Lee Speed Shop/Reath version. In ‘64 is when Arnold built the 364ci 6:71 blown Hilborn 4 port motor. Very cool pic & thanks for sharing !!

 

Here is a little update pic. New motor is built and assembled by the man himself Arnold Chaves from Dos Palmas Machine. He built the first motor for this car in 1964 & the last motor now in 2024 !! How cool is that !! Now the motor is in the hands of Top Fuel Champion Brendan Murry. Brendan has assembled the Delta Drive 2" belt setup, machined a lower pulley from a 3" pulley down to 2", built some zoomie headers to fire it off, assembling the spark plug wires from Ton's Performance which got us the correct Packard 440 wires with the rajah ends. So So exciting to see this new motor coming together !

I wished I would have come across this thread a few years ago. I believe the Colt 45 funny car was sold by PC Classic Cars in Sherman, Texas a few years ago. It may have not been the Colt 45, but I recall a very rough original funny car body and chassis with some awesome original Halibrands.

 

That was the second version of the car which was a 1968 Fastback body, that was a completely different version. The original Colt 45 is a 1965 coupe body that had the same chassis & power plant as the Fiat.

 

Good to know. I don't feel so bad now.

 

Finally the time has come to make a little more history ! The heartbeat is alive again and well for the Davis & Ingram Fiat . So many years & hours spent making this motor restoration happen. Still can’t believe I was so lucky to have Arnold Chaves build this motor again just like how he did in 1964 for Joe Davis. Big thank you to some of the great legends such has Don Enriquez helping me with the Hilborn restoration & build , Brendan Murry for machining a few items ,plumbing & get this fired up and dailed in. Also all fan support of people following the build & selling me their parts to make this happen. Lastly big thanks to my other supporter & partner my dad Perry . Now back onto the chassis with Cotati Speed Shop & on to the trans ! Enjoy the sweet sounds of this 364ci “The Mouse That Roars”

Is this running on pump gas or is there some nitro in the mix?
