wanted to add the one i just bought. i found it on the hamb. have never been into sprint cars or midgets. but when i saw this thing it just felt right to go get it. i don't know anything about it other than the guy i got it from thought it was a Don Edmunds frame 63ish??? i have no idea, but since i bought i have become really interested in sprints and midgets.

i would really like to find some history on the car if anyone has any info that would be great.

i was cleaning it off the other night and found a stamping on one of the side mounts that say's REICHENBACH KRUGER.

i tried a search on google for REICHENBACH KRUGER and found some stuff but not much?

any help would really neat. not sure what to do with it now that i have it? any suggestions ie... restore it to original?

i posted this on the old sprint car photos thread and had some great help
(thanks guys) thought i would start a new thread just to reach some others that may be able to help.

max richenbach was a race car fabricator from the chicago area he built midgets back in the 40s I am told he was from around the area of santa fe speedway. in the burbs. he was very talented occasionally a midget pops up for sale with a claim that he built it. his son is still in the area but I have never met him. their is a book out about midgets from the midwest perhaps your car is in it? I never heard of kruger.
I know all this because he hand built the frame and suspension on my old showrod seen in my avatar.

  4. 4 bar space frame tells me late 60's. Rollbar was removable from the pins beside the tank.

The KRUGER part could possibly be the actual builders last name. The first name could be a statement of who designed the layout.

    Thus- _ _ _ _ _ _ Kruger built a Max Reichenbach copy.

That's not a car to be changed drasticly. There are a lot of things that can be done to make it fun and reliable and somewhat affordable.

  5. OH-----by the way. IF I HAD A NICKEL FOR EVERY TIME SOMEONE TOLD ME THEY HAD AN EDMUNDS WHEN THEY REALLY HAD A COPY, I'D GO GET ONE OF THEM $6 BURGERS.

There is no shame at all when it comes to an excellent copy.

max also had a brother they built midgets together in chicago. the front hairpins look a lot like the ones on my car. could kruger of been the owner or builder of the body?

EMMR, Eastern Museum of Motor Racing, may be able to help. I think it's EMMR.com. If you know where it was raced the number would be the way to ID it, who drove it and owned it. There's a whole subculture of dirt racers out there.
