HELP! Need '54 & '72 Cadillac diagrams / distributor and transmission question

I put a 1972 Cadillac 500 in my 1954 Cadillac. I need a website, or PDF, for vacuum and electrical diagrams on the entire '54 Cadi. I need a vacuum and electrical diagram for the engine on the '72 500.

I am a back yard mechanic so forgive my ignorance. I know the engine firing order (its on the block). How do I know what point on the distributor cap goes to what spark plug? The cap is does not appear to be marked.

Also, I put a TH400 behind the 500. Can anyone help with a shifting diagram?

All turbo 400's that I know of have the same shift pattern P_R_N_D_2_1

I've got the wiring diagram for the 72 but the print is so fine it won't copy with my scanner. A google search might bring up the diagrams you need though if you do some creative searching.

 

not to sound stupid but have you looked for service manuals for the vehicles? should have the wiring and vacuum diagrams.
