I've said it before on here and so here it is again,I have a friend that his wife works for PAYPAL in Omaha. She told me if anyone read and understood the user agreement that you OK to get to be a customer that you would NEVER do business with them. Unfortunately people just click OK without reading it and then act surprised when shit happens.

It is harder to monitor your money than it is to make it.

    I called my bank.
They put a freeze on it until a losey $9. charge my wife did to buy to packs of smokes:rolleyes:
The if that clears on monday or tuesday, they said I can come in a close the account.
They didn't make it sound as if Paypal could Force payment on it if it's closed.

I was worried that it was like writing a check on a closed account. That's fraud.
she made it sound as if they couldn't and that paypal would have to deal with me without the bank account open.
    we'll see.

The assbag will not return my calls, even though I've forced myself to be polite and cival.
He also didn't follow through on his promise to paypal me last night.
No sign of him since last night.

I called the resolution dept. and spoke to a english speaking woman. She seemed sorry to hear this is happening to me. we were on the phone for over 30 minutes.

She gave me a email address to send a very legthy email stating what happened.
Their resolution email times-out after 5 minutes, and it's hard to spell everything out it that time.

So I'm about to do that. And my account would be closed if the wife would stop smoking....:(
Have to wait for a damn 9. charge to clear....

Thanks to everyone who's replied. I'll keep ya posted.

Type your story into something else (notepad, word, email, whatever) and get it all down there first. Then open up the PayPal resolution thing, and copy the text from the other place and paste it into the paypal thing. That way you don't have to work with a time limit...

    Thanks Patman.
I just sent a regular email to the resolution dept. like she advised.

I spent 45 minutes spelling it all out in detail.

Then,,....I get another message via ebay from him, but it was his wife....
She says she's sorry that this happened, and that she knew she should have just taken care of it from the start....
She said she talked to paypal, and they would unfreeze his account so she could paypal the amount+ that we agree'd.

Said it would be at 9pm tonight.....Well, it's 10:36 Ohio time. and nothing.
I think IL is one hour behind us in timezones.

We'll see what happens over the next hour or so.

Still don't have a fuzzy feeling.

Then...If this ever squares out. I'm going to have to force the shipping company to give me a signed invoice with their details, drivers details, etc..so I don't get screwed more.

  5. Take pictures of your truck in your driveway, then on the shipper's truck.

I had a similar experience once. The guy did a chargeback on his CC, paypal took the money from my paypal acct and showed a neg balance. I got it straight before they tried to take it from my bank, but I was sweating for a few days. Good luck man. Being laid off sucks.

    UPDATE.
They finally did resend payment via paypal though.
After I got notice from Paypal today that ruled in his favor because I didn't have proof of shipping!!!

    Well, Duh. It's still here.

    So, Now.....

Give me advice on what I should do to protect myself once the shipper comes to get it.
I have no idea who's coming, but what should I demand so I don't get dorked by this guy again?
Since I was dumb enough to take full payment via Paypal...

Thanks to everyone who responded here and PM'd me.

Seems to me that no matter who shows up, the truck doesn't go anywhere until you have been paid in full. If the PayPal thing isn't settled yet...the truck stays until it *gets* settled. Right now the buyer has zero motivation to fix anything, and you're the only one talking to PP.

If it is settled, and you're worried about getting the funds retracted again, contact PP and ask *them* what proof they require. Don't let it leave without that proof.

Videotapes and receipts may make sense to the average person as proof, but PP ain't average people. Ask 'em.

Rule No. 1 - cleared funds in your bank account before anything is released. When YOUR bank says it is good, it is good. Do NOT ship or allow anything to be picked up unless this is the case - ever. Beware fake bills, Money Orders, cashiers checks etc. If anyone comes to pick up tell them you do not have cleared funds and the goods will not be released. The other guy is paying the shipper so it is his problem, not yours.

PayPal sucks - I got sent some seats from a flood car, EvilBay auction said 'good condition'. Upon unpacking, electric seat motors frozen, seat frames rusted - both bottom and back rest frames, watermarks on upholstery. Seller says send them back but guess who gets to pay $133 to ship - each way. I end up with $266 loss and nothing to show for it. Seller who grossly misrepresented item says: 'perform a physically impossible sex act with yourself'. PayPal says pretty much the same thing - 'nothing we can do'.

Make sure you actually have the money before releasing anything to anyone.
