Best a can do right now.
The casting # you listed is for Bendix wheel cylinders
    # 3168 and #3169
repair kit would be # 6961.
    15/16" bore.

Sorry can't convert to Wagner or access my numberical listing to find application.

(Rear wheel cylinders have the hardline going in,so inverted seat always)

Thanks very much. So this means I can't use the existing inverted flare with an inverted seat wheel cylinder? Could I buy an adapter fitting to go from an inverted seat to a flare?

Definetly a 55/57 Pontiac rear. It has tapered and oblong axle tubes, round axle bearing flanges and the center section looks exactly like the early Olds/Pont. rears. I posted this before 57-64 Olds/Pont rear drums

So I need to order replacement parts for a 57 Pontiac rear then? Does it matter what model or are they all interchangeable? I am looking at a wheel cylinder for a 57 Pontiac Chieftan and it looks very similar.

  7. Ever check the wheel bolt pattern on it?

Did you ever figure out what the bolt pattern is?

Take all of the information and your parts down to a parts store and tell them you think that it is 1957 and match up the new with the old.

Not yet...I plan to do that after work today. I I imagine that it's a stock '53 chevy bolt pattern because I have swapped the front and rear tires before, and the front is a stock '53 setup.

Then the rear axles must have been re-drilled for the smaller lug bolt pattern. If the front is stock, they should be on a 4.75" bolt circle.

I thought the rear axles from a '53-'54 chevy were interchangeable with the '57 Pontiac rear end? Maybe I am wrong. The hub assembly actually looks "newish"

Someone else will have to answer this, but I don't think so.

Any chance this is a '57 Chevy rear with the 4.75" bolt circle? Is that what the rear diff looks like?
