I've milled the wood, purchased the bed strips and fixing bolts and am ready go, but as the truck came with no bed floor i will need to make or buy some cross rails.

I know that the first cross rail is a diferent size to the other three.

The first cross rail nearest to the front of the bed is incorrectly fitted and will need th be removed, as this has only been tacked in place so it should come ouy fairly easily. (the truck has a fresh coat of paint on it so no butchery)

I need to know the dimensions of these cross rails if I'm to fabricate replacements.

The cross rail fitted is 2"deep 11/4" wide and 50" long, would this be the correct front cross rail? or one of the other three? Any help with the dimensions and perhaps a pic would be appreciated.(sorry no pics but I can't get them to upload)

The cross sills should not be welded in place. They are only held in by bolts. The ends through the angle strip fastened to the bed sides and then to the floor boards with the bed strip bolts.
The front sill is bolted to the bottom of the bed front panel and the rear one is bolted to bottom of the rear stake pocket.

I can get some measurements for you if you want but these are available from " Mar-K" and other vendors very reasonably priced and an excellent fit.

There is a lot of good info here if the link works.

Thanks for the info, I would be grateful if you could measure the parts,

Sorry I didn't mention that I have already milled the wood and trial fitted it prior to finishing.

I have searched this forum as well as stovebolt and a few other truck pages and forums and vendors sites to get the wood milling dimensions etc I have found out how it should bolt together.

The truck was purcased without a bed floor, the incorrectly installed new cross ril wil be removed and re used. This is a low budget rebuild so i need the dimensions in order to work out how many of each style I need to order or make.

As I live in the UK ordering from the USA is not always practical due to the cost of shipping and tax charges added at this end as well as the tim scale if an incorrect part is ordered or supplied, I'm sure you guys have similar issues.

All three rails are the same. They measure 49 7/8 wide.

Thanks, it's really the depth of the rail I need. Apparently the one nearest the cab #25 is different but I need the depth measurement of both.

The only difference between #25 and #26 is the front one has holes in the front side for the bottom of the front panel to bolt to. All dimensions are the same.

Installed they measure 1 7/8 rrom the floor boards to the bottom surface of the sills and the inside measurement of the sills is 1 3/8. There is a flange at the bottom edge and they measure 2 1/16 across there.

These measurements are from a Mar-K replacement sill.

If that doesn't make sense I will try to make a sketch.
