Hi, I need to find a cable operated th400 modulator. Not a vacuum one, but a cable operated. I can get one from TSR Racing, but by the time I import it to the UK it will cost £350 I've been told there is an ACDELCO part fitted to a GM 3/4ton truck that had a TH400 and a deisel. They, apparently used one of these. I can't find this anywhere on Rockauto, despite hours of searching. So does this exist and does anyone have a part number? Thanks Gus
There are several places online that have them and yes they were used in gm turbo 400 and 350 transmissions with diesel engines prices ranging from $160 to $300 they work good if your running a blower or anything that's low on vacuum.
I suggest you modify the thread ***le, to get more views. Something like: TH400 cable modulator? As suggested, maybe @squirrel can help?
not many people will see it in "the antiquated", might be better posting it on the main hamb forum? I've never messed with the cable "modulators". I used a vacuum modulator on my 55 with a blower, with a modified BDS pressure diverter valve. On my Chevy II I went with a full manual shift valve body, perhaps the Stage 3 Trans Go type? https://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/TH400_transmission_mechanical_modulator_p/609-00000040m.htm is another I found on the internets, I can't vouch for it. I would not be surprised that it's not available from rock auto...they sell replacement parts, and hard parts like this generally don't get replaced. You'd have to go pretty far back in time to find this part at a junkyard in the US, too.
