Technical Help needed identifying this Caddy TransDapt adapter

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by eightballgrifter, May 5, 2021.

  1. Hi, can anyone identify what gearbox this Caddy TransDapt adapter us for? I can see the "JC" cast into the housing but sadly the stamped serial number is no longer showing.
    Many Thanks,

Yuo can eliminate Caddy to Packard as the Packard has a much smaller bolt pattern

  3. I looked in my Transdapt catalog sheets and I do not have any diagrams for trans patterns that come even close to the 6 inch horizontal pattern. I do not have any info on Mopars. Maybe an email to the folks at Wilcap would be in order.
What is the ID of the center hole?

  5. I have an old book that has a pretty complete list of Trans Dapt adapters. JC is listed as '49-'54 Caddy. And going by your measurments 6" x 5 3/4" if it has a 4 1/8" center hole it's listed as Chrysler All '40-'56 column shift trans. And Studebaker '47-'50 6-cyl Commander and '51-'63 V-8 except '56 Golden Hawk. Kits # JC-51 Chrysler and JC-75 Studebaker. $55.54 list in 1967. Gene.

Of course this will also bolt to the early Olds V8 engines

  7. I'll check the centre hole diameter tomorrow, but thanks to Gene, it sounds like we have it [emoji106]
