Hi all! I have a 1955 Chevy Bel Air and i just replaced all front bearings.
Now it’s time to install wheel hubs on spindle.
I saw in various forums that the correct way to instal and thighten the spindle nut is to thighten it to 12ft-lbs. and then loosen it and then again finger-thighten it. But it does not convince me… as on the Mechanical Shop Manual it says to thighten it at 33ft-lbs. and then back it off as much as it align with the hole for the spindle cotter pin…. Who I have to listen so?

I think it might change if you are using the original ball bearing or have converted it to roller bearings.
Here is the procedure from the factory Service manual. Thanks to @squirrel.

Factory 55 manual applies to factory ball bearings, which run a bit tight.

Later factory manual procedure for being looser applies to tapered roller bearings, that later cars used, which don't run as tight as ball bearings.
