HELP- new White walls to look old

I saw a pretty nice set of tires with period perfect whitewall patina sell on Barret Jackson for a great deal. They even included documentation.

 

Run the flame of torch over one while brazing something. Scuff a curb paralell parking. Don't use whitewall cleaner. Scuff a spot with a grinder after brazing something nearby. Spill paint on one.

Or, clean the other two...

This would probaly work

 

One million people try and keep them clean and take of their new equipment and you get one that wants to destroy them. Why not spend the extra little bit of cash and get a complete nice new set, keep old two for spares. To each their own with their car and style but this is ridiculous.

 

I get what you are trying to do. It's just one of those things you are gonna get razzed for saying out loud.

The best way I know to make white walls look old is to try and take the absolute best care possible of them. That's my secret anyways.

 

I freaked out last night when I simply smudged mine putting them back on the car after setting the brakes!!!

I would guess if you found a set that were "patina'd" they'd be so weather-checked that they'd blow on you on the way home... unless of course you buy matching, period-correct inner tubes to run in them too.

Just clean the old ones! They'll look much better with that freshly red face...

On reflection, maybe my initial response seemed harsh but ya see, over here in Englandland we have very limited access to a very limited number of styles in white walls and in order to purchase any of them we have to be prepared to bend over the hood and drop our pants financialy. So you have to forgive me for not comprehending why anyone would want to make a luxury item such as a WHITE wall anything less than white. Perhaps there's a gap in the market for brown walls.
