Why would a chopped and channeled '38 Ford PU be a RatRod?

I'm with 117harv. I believe this was a recent thread, same cab. Try doing a 'search', there were many replies complete with pics of how other guys did thier chops. It had a lot of detail on how to quater the roof and alternative methods. A very good thread. Try and search for 'pickup cab chop' or 'pickup chop' or something along those themes. Good luck, oj

id did a 35 ford truck recently, used 2 roofs,i didnt want to lay back my A pillars so i cut my A pillars and front roof section down 1st, the used a the donor roof for the back section. this helped me in 2 ways-
1st- leaving the donor rear roof longer to fill the gap (front to back) ment onlt 1 weld seam across the roof (side to side) wich means less weldein and less warpage
2nd-my cab with minimal rust had a bad rear roof section, the donor roof off of a rust bucket cab was alot less bent up
id olso recomend the 'how to chop tops' book, it may sound cheesey, but aeve after doing a few chops on different body styles it still proved to be quite a good read, many different chopping methods for mont different body styles
