After three years I am finally at the point where I need to make a decision on the color for my 60 Thunderbird custom. So what do you think. Gold metallic pearl with a slight shade shift for highlights or metallic mint green and metallic white with silver pearl?
The white/green combo is super nice and classy but the gold rips your eyes out, puts them in a blender and pops them back in your head (in a good way). So depending on what you want to do - be seen or BE SEEN then the color is up to you. Good luck!
I think the mint and white are "fun" colors and the gold drips more of what the Bird is all about, I vote gold.
I suffer the same dilemma, except it's with 4 colors and Pagan Gold is one of them. So I'll pick the GOLD
Man.. that's a tough call because they both look great. I think the white and mint are more classy, refined and sophisticated and the gold is pure unadulterated custom. I think it really depends on which theme you are after. Either choice will still look killer.
Thanks for the comments to this point. Its a huge decision. I do like the pagan gold in the video 55 chevy posted, but the gold in the photo doesn't do anything for me.
Tow reasons for my vote if that really matters. one is that green is bad luck and the other that probably carries more weight than the first is I am going though an I like gold cars phase in my life. Both color schemes look good actually, I just prefer the gold personally. My A bone will eventually be gold with black fenders.
Mint & white thumbs up!.......I noticed when I painted mine two-tone, ..it showed the classic design lines better...instead of enveloping them all into one solid color and losing the visual distinctive lines....just my opinion on a great car! ---Ray
Personally, I wear a lot of black clothes and tend to drive black cars(channeling my inner Johnny Cash). They say clothes makes the man so here you go; vs Elton or Elvis? Both talented musicians but I'm more of an Elvis man. Gold.
Hahah. Well my .02 cents worth I vote mint and white. I agree the 2 tone features the different body areas well and just has a classy look. The gold looks too much like a las vegas pawn shop advertisement
That car needs those frosty mint and white colors. In actual practice vs a rendering I think it will be pleasing for a long time to come. The gold is awesome too but I think is better suited to a different style of custom. As counter-intuitive as it may seem I believe you'll tire of the gold sooner. The frosty mint really enhances the changes.
I think you will be happier with the green and white for a longer period of time without "burning out" on the color. Eye-popping paint just doesn't age very well IMHO.
Mint and White !!! Gold T-Birds are everywhere . Way over done in my opinion. Your car your choice , it will be great either way. Don't forget to post progress photo's! Larry
My feelings and my choice too. I voted GOLD then after looking awhile realized in a short time the gold will not be such a great choice. Love the green and white. In the end it's the owner's choice. Red is always good!
