You know, I will say this about him. Danny's a great guy. but his dad's not doing too well. I know if I were in his shoes, working one job, then spending all the rest of the time split between seeing my dad in the hospital and taking care of the rest of the family (not to mention his own) I don't thiink I'd be online all that much. I'd already pretty much feel like crap, let alone the guilt brought on by being a good guy, knowing that I had unfinished stuff of other people's, and knowing people are ragging on me. Hell, I'd even be a little afraid that everyone is going to be pissed at me, period if I call, and that is the last thing I'd need with my life in turmoil as it is.

This should be a prayer request or something for his dad, or him - not a "let's dog Danny" post. :)

If you're not dogging Danny, then I apologize.

Man, I drive within a few miles of his shop (from what I gather) every day. Danny, if I can do the polishing, boxing and sending to help you out, man say the word. I'm not looking for a medal or anything, just to help a guy out that might need it.

I dont think anyone is bad mouthing the guy. I think everyone realizes there are family matters that are keeping him from being here or out in the shop. I also think everyone understands the priorities here, and wish him and his family well. If he would take 2 minutes to return one of Aarons phone calls I am pretty sure none of this would have ever been posted. All he would have to do is set the carbs on the porch one morning before leaving and let some one know they will be there to be picked up this problem would be solved.

I wish him and his family well and hope he can find the time to return some calls in the mean time.

People are only great folks and reliable right up until the point when they are not. Everyone said Danny was a stand up guy, therefore I paid him as soon as he got the carbs. I believe that if he is such a stand up guy I would have received at least a phone call by now. If Danny is too busy for a phone call I feel really sorry for him. That means he has to be too busy to take a poop and that he is walking around with a huge load in his trousers. If he has been taking the time to poop on a regular basis he can call me grunting and groaning from the toilet to tell me the situation. I won't mind, really. He can call me while he is eating lunch and talk with his mouth full of food, I won't complain about his manners. I don't know how many times I have to say it, NO ONE is too busy for a phone call. Sodbuster talked to him, so it has been established that he hasn't been rendered a mute by some horrendous accident.

I have tried to put myself in Danny's shoes, but the fact of the matter is, I have a real job that I have been working over 70 hours a week for the past 2 months, I have a wife, I have kids basketball and football games, I have household obligations, I have three dogs that need taken care of one with cancer who is going in for surgery on Friday, I even had my grandma die earlier this year during the busy planting season. I could go on and on about every little detail of my life and tell you why I shouldn't have time to do anything, but you know what, I still find time to work on my car almost every night, get a little action from the ol lady when she will allow it, jerk off now and then when she doesn't, and still get plenty of sleep and not make excuses about how little time I have for this or that. It's called life. Everyone lives one, and let's face it, most of ours really suck when it all boils down to it. Working on my car every night is one of the few joys I actually have and right now worrying about where my carbs are is taking the fun out of that.

Now we can all stand around and hold hands and paint a rosy picture of how great we all are and how great life is, but that just wouldn't be true. Call me the asshole, but from where I am sitting, I am out two months time, a pile of carbs, and some money. To me it appears like I got "stood up" by the "stand up" guy.

I have had several people pm me with some offers to sell me carbs, I appreciate it and will take a few of you up on it. That is as rosy as it is gonna get and I will be out that much more money for the carbs, and I will have to have Dickster go through them for me again, but that is life and I will deal with it. Thanks everyone for your help, and if someone does manage to get my carbs for me I will give you compensation for your time and effort. I will run them on something else if I don't have them in time for Detroit. Don't go making threats to Danny though. It is obvious he has enough issues, I am having Marcus flashbacks.

    Thanks!
    Aaron

Did anybody ever hear from this guy.

I hope nothing bad happened to him, but he better have a good reason for shafting a guy on a job.

Just wondering if there was any new info.

I still haven't heard anything. A couple of people went by his place but no one was ever around. By the way, you guys that went by PM me, I have something for you. I got a new computer and lost the e-mail addys.

Funny how I can build a whole car in the time it takes someone to just polish the carbs.

I would still like to get them back. I have a 6x2 for a 671 blower that I am gonna need carbs for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Found him (I think).

I think I remember him saying he had a warehouse of reconditioned spark plugs. If so, this may be him.

If it's not him, I apologize for jumping the gun.

Hey, I just saw an ad that reminded me of this. I figured I'd pass it on, in case this was still a "thing".
