Recently got my '65 Riviera repainted. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=724301 The paintjob wouldn't have happened at all, except a friend of a friend saw an old 40s truck cab in my back yard and wanted it, so I supplied the paint and he supplied the labor. It came out pretty good considering he didn't have a spray booth, and he did an excellent job on the bodywork repairs, shaving some trim, etc. A few holidays, but no complaints. One problem I have is a pretty bad flaw in the hood. There is chrome trim around the vents in the cowl. There are two bodylines in the hood that line up with that, but the hood has no trim. That said, the flaws are in this crease running down the hood, actually look like bubbles in the paint, and the paint is cracked in one spot. Repainting the whole hood is not an option. I was thinking of carefullu\y sanding out along these body lines, and painting a thin pointed scallop, but make it look like it was planned and not a band-aid. Maybe do something simple on the decklid to tie the two together.
There's no adhesion there, the seam wasn't sanded thoroughly, only solution is to sand the flaw out and repaint, you could do a scallop.
