~~ HELP ~~ Problems starting 425 Buick Nailhead

    Have you got 12 volts to the coil when starting? You need to byp*** the resistor wire for starting. Should be a hot wire marked "I" on the sol. that goes directly to the + side of the coil. It's only hot when the sol. is engaged.-Jim
     
  2. yeah the resistance wire is definately not connected. I was up under the dash the other day and was wondering what this random wire in the middle of the loom was, after checking the manual, it turned out to be the resitance wire, so i traced it and saw it not conneccte to anything. I'm going to re-route the wire from the solenoid to the +ve side of the coil where it should be.

    I think it was just a me not giving it enough gas issue. Who'd a thought a 425 needs a bit of gas to start up? :) HAHA
