This install is giving me fits!! I’m installing an Offy intake with 2 1904 Holley's along with Clifford shorty headers on my 54 Customline, 223. I rebuilt the carbs and worked through clearance issues because the Offy intake is built to mate up with the stock type exhaust manifold heat riser ports. Since the Clifford headers aren't built to connect to the intake, I just hooked them up with the heat riser ports on the intake left open because I thought the bottom cavity is separated from both exhaust and intake flow. Am I incorrect? When I fired the engine up, it was running full throttle even though the linkage was set in idle position. Are the carbs ****ing huge quan***ies of fuel because of the open heat riser cavity? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
