DONE! I just told my brother, folks, and a few friends too!

I love America, but Ive never been interested in politics. These political matters, however, have caught my attention. Alot of issues these people deal with directly effect the future of my beloved hobby. My entire life, free time, wardrobe and lifestyle is surrounded in classic cars!

Im pleased to know there is someone fighting to keep my love for old cars alive, and that they all have simular passions for these great hobbies!

    One minute, very easy!

    URGENT REGULATORY ALERT

Environment Canada Threatens Leaded Fuel Ban on
    Competition Motor Vehicles
Regulation Could Lead to Curtailment of Drag Racing Events

The Department of the Environment has issued a proposal to terminate the current exemption from environmental restrictions for leaded gasoline used in competition motor vehicles. If approved, the regulation would require a ban on vehicles using leaded fuel by Jan. 1, 2009 resulting in the likely demise of all drag racing competition in Canada.
We Urge You to Contact Environment Canada Immediately (Contact Information Below) to Voice Your Opposition to the Ban
    • Environment Canada relies on no scientifically documented test data that provides evidence that increased exposure to emissions created from leaded gasoline causes adverse health effects. In fact, there is no evidence that racing competitions result in increased exposure at all.
    • Competition motor vehicles use only 1.5% of all leaded gasoline consumed in Canada. The aviation industry, which owns a permanent exemption from the ban, accounts for the other 98.5%.
    • The U.S., U.K. and Australia have not seen the need to enact a similar ban. U.S. race teams, which constitute a significant majority of drag racers that compete in Canada, will not convert their vehicles to compete in Canadian events.
    • According to data compiled by the International Hot Rod Association, drag racing competitions and related expenditures by race teams, event organizers and tourists among others brings with it a multi-million dollar windfall for regions hosting these events.
Canadians get on board and tell all your gear head friends to sign up now!!

I signed up and sent out a memo to my car club members so they can see if they want to sign-up too. Be nice if they all did (80+ members).
Thanks to "a boner" for bringing this up. We should all support this. Takes 2 minutes. Do it give your car away for scrap metal!

done, and passed along, am always being harrassed by cops because i drive an old japanese car, they all think i must be street racing because i am. i've tried to explain i have a decade of work in my car, and i'm not going to go racing some 16 year old kid in mommies car because he thinks he's a bad ass. i put blood sweat and tears in my car so i can enjoy driving it not to wrap it around a light pole because of some dumbass.
