Guys, I would really appreciate some ideas on this. I put a new AOD transmission in my Ford... done in time for RoundUp (for once) BUT... during testdrive it makes a *grinding* noise going from third to OD and also at highway speed on deceleration and acceleration. The noise is just like grinding in a manual transmission. WTF can make this noise in an automatic? It's fine through the first three gears. I called the company's tech support and they're stumped. Said drive it a while more and drop the pan and look for chunks.
