History HELP!! What the heck is this thing?

I bought this at a garage sale years ago...I think its auto related, but not sure, can anyone out there help? Its about 4 1/2" in daimeter.....thanks in advance!!

That figure looks like Mercury.

 

No it's Hermes. Messenger of the gods from ancient greek religion. Also took newly dead souls to Hades.

Well, it could be either Hermes or Mercury... the pictures I looked up are quite similar. I'd lean towards Mercury though, it sure looks like an automotive part

 

Don't know. That one and one more will make two of them that I've seen.
