    You need to realy pay attention that the forks are lining up on both sides of the slider as that is the only thing that can hold you up unless you dont have the 1-2 slider in the forward position and the side cover in the corresponding position . Dont worry about what he thought were cracks as you can see the whole side cover looks like spider cracks and is just the casting.

    Did or has your folk/forks get pulled out of the dendents? This would cause a fork's valley rub on the slider.

    Scratch that, I got it! Turns out, one shift fork was a bit cocked on a weird angel
