hey guy's i was digging tru my parts and found a really nice set of 40's wheels they are 15" 4 1/2 wide and have a 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern.

What the heck are these maybe off of. I thought they might be from a 48 pontiac i had years ago, but i figured they would be 16'' then.

Alittle help would be greatly appreciated.

They have an index hole. They could be Plymouth (and the like), as they used wheel bolts, instead of studs, and had an indexing pin, to help you mount them.

These have 5 index holes, not just one, but they look pretty close otherwise.

there were always 5 index holes - Buick also.....just to help you get the wheel hanging so you could start the first stud, not to specifically 'clock' the wheel for any particular reason.

late forties early fifties Mopar. The small slots give them away.

Definitely Mopar. They look identical to the wheels on my '55 Desoto, but are too narrow. The '55 had 7.5" wide rims. So, along with everyone else late 40's, early 50's

  11. I think the late '40s Hudson 15" wheels were the same also.
