Hot Rods HELP...WIRING GURUES

HAVE A MSD8389 3 WIRE DIST. SUN TAC CUT WIRES TO TAC...WILL NOT RUN, BOTH WIRES HOT AT COIL AND TAC 12V/ SIGNAL WIRES HOT? WHATS GOING ON ? 309-373-3649

 

this is how it is supposed to be wired. Did you do anything different from this?, which might have burned out the ignition module in the distributor?

 

The instructions are pretty straight forward 8389.pdf (holley.com)
One thing that comes to mind is that some ignition switches don't have power to the coil when you are cranking the engine relying on a resistor byp*** for 12 V to the coil while cranking.
Have you checked for power to the coil while cranking?

Other than that some modules are more delicate than others even in 600 buck distributors.
