Anyone here have a old crash book or something that shows the frame measurements for a 57 ford passenger car. Mine has hung the crossmember on something at one time or another. Thanks for your time Jeff jdh6fan@yahoo.com
Look for a FACTORY 57 Ford shop manual, (NOT Chiltons, or Haynes, etc.). The frame specs should be listed in there. If they are not, it's a good idea to get one anyway. They are invaluble for any old car, no matter what year or make. They are chock full of very good info on your specific car. The suspension needs work??? Look it up in the shop manual..... Electrical problems??? The wiring diagram is in the shop manual. The first things that I buy, after getting another old car, are the FACTORY shop manuals, assembly manuals, and owners manuals. Fortunately reprints are available for a great number of cars. The ones for the older cars are better illustrated and easier to read than modern manuals, too.
Motors and Chiltons put out an annual magazine you can sometimes turn out that has frame charts in it. My crash book doesn't go back that far.
I have an old motor manuel (hardbound blue type), it has alot of good info in it but not the frame measurements. My quest is on for a factory manuel. Thanks Jeff jdh6fan@yahoo.com
