Hey guys, I need some help with my brakes... When I hit the brakes, the car locks what seems to be the drivers wheel with any brake pressure whatsoever. Could it be they need adjustment? If so, how do I adjust them? Help from some mopar gurus please!

  2. I am not a "MOPAR Guru" but as I recall the Dodge brakes had two wheel cylinders one for each shoe and each shoe had an anchor bolt on the end opposite the wheel cylinder. The anchor bolt had a cam built into the end that p***es through the shoe and you turn the bolt to move the she in an out.

It could be that your wheel locks up because the other brakes need to be adjusted up or they are worn slap out, or they may just need adjusting or they may have bad wheel cylinders on the wheels that are not locking up. At any rate you have to pull the drum to adjust the brakes and that will be a good time to inspect them,

A shop manual is a must with those cars. I recommend getting one for the brake adjustment/bleeding process. You can probably get a reprint on line.

You may also have a broken return spring. I would remove the drum and see whats going on inside.
