Help With A 3 Speed Shifter!!!

  1. ok so here it is,i have a 3 speed floor shifter for my 53 chevy and the bracket that it comes with does work so i found one on EVILBAY and did the whole bid on it way to much for it so then i get out bid and the last second,needless to say the guy that won it paid alot for it.any way i am looking for the correct bracket for the tranny to install my shifter,if any on e has one they want to sell please PM me with a pic.

    post under the wanted section in the classifieds.....and fab one up if you can...most people have to fab for floor shift 3 speeds

    How about a JC whitney floor chevy tranny for trucks? (it has the longer shift) it fits the chevys up to 58 I think check out their website.

    BTW I am assuming you have a powerglide three speeds...:D

    go to summitracing...they have a hurst indy 3 speed shifter thats meant for coverting to the floor..has a longer shifter arm and will work good..says minor fabracating may be needed....call em up and ask them some questions on it you may be able to bnuy just mounting brackets or whatever you need

    Here's the directions on how to adapt a Hurst Floor shifter.

    You can also get a kit from National Chevy that doesn't take as much adaption as they have built it for the car.

    I had a pickup with an Indy shifter on the floor when I was a kid... worked great, except it got stuck in 2nd every once in a while.
